Liverpool want to bring Marco Asensio to Anfield this year. The Reds have already signed two forwards, Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho this summer. Despite it all, the club is still being linked with other attacking players
Asensio is one such target. Now, some recent reports have claimed that Jurgen Klopp is eyeing the 26-year-old as a prospect for the club.
Liverpool are interested to sign Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio
Recent reports from the Spanish outlet Sport, Klopp believes that Asensio could complete his new attack at Anfield.
However, Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti has a different opinion. Don Carlo sees AC Milan as a better option for Asensio. It is because the Serie A champions could offer more regular playing time to the forward.
A player of high pedigree
Asensio is one of the best counterattacking players in the world. The Spaniard has won three La Liga titles and three Champions League titles with Los Blancos. He has been hailed as a player with an “unlimited ceiling” by Bernabeu legend Guti. However, Liverpool doesn’t need him right now.
Marcos Asensio as a Liverpool forward?
Liverpool has an explosive forward line for next season. Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino, and Darwin Nunez are all wonderful players. It is difficult to see Asensio getting much play time with this much quality already in the ranks.
The Spaniard is a decent playmaker. He can create chances for the teammates up front. He is also a very versatile player. The Spaniard is a natural right winger but can also fill in as a left-side wide player. Moreover, he also has the ability and technical skills to operate as an attacking midfielder.
Asensio is a good back up for Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah. He has a great store of experience at the elite level. Moreover he fits Klopp’s brand of football. However, only time will tell if he’s able to make a transition to English football if the Reds manage to sign him.
