Amidst Chelsea injury blows, Mason Mount looks keen on taking goal scoring responsibility. The Englishman will be playing as the team’s right winger in their clash versus Norwich.

The 22-yrs-old midfielder, is the heart of Chelsea’s midfield. He is their unnoted talisman. He is quite notably one of the young favourites for both his club and country.

Mount’s link up between midfield and the edge of the final third paired with his “getting into the box” tendency has been crucial in Thomas Tuchel’s rather defensive set ups.

Being the Blues’ central driving force, he has unfortunately failed to put himself on the Chelsea scoresheet this season. However, he seems confident to score against the Canaries, in the absence of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

Mason Mount could keep Chelsea at top of the table

In recent years, Mason Mount has made quite a mark on world football. The young Englishman is said to be one of the best young players at the moment. Even though he was criticized to be favoured by England coach, Gareth Southgate, Mount has successfully proved his haters wrong.

However, he has not scored since the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid in May. Tuchel identified him as one of his players feeling the effects of football’s crowded calendar.

“It’s about time I got on the scoresheet. I’m getting in the right areas but it’s just not falling for me. Hopefully when the first one goes in the floodgates will open.” – said the English midfielder, to the Daily Mail.

He further added: “Every time I step on the pitch I feel energized and ready to go, ready to press. I want to be involved in every game but I’m still young and it’s so early in my career.”

A win vs Norwich at Stamford Bridge will keep Chelsea top of the table as a motivated Mason Mount will be looking to pounce on every opportunity he gets.
