Manchester United join Arsenal in race to sign Wolves’ star Matheus Cunha in the June transfer window.
Man Utd are interested in Matheus Cunha
As per talkSPORT, Manchester United are seem to be interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ star Matheus Cunha. Arsenal are already keeping tabs on the player for a summer move. However, the Gunners have plenty of other stars on their potential transfer list.
Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams are at the top in their list.
Nottingham Forest are also said to have interest in the Brazilian forward. Although, sources have that he could be willing to move to a big club only. Forest also have a chance to book their spot for the next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Utd head coach Ruben Amorim works on 3-4-2-1 formation. Therefore, they are trying to bring in a proper no.10 for this system.
The Red Devils have already held initial talks with Cunha’s agents, as per reports. His representatives will be in England in the coming days to hold discussions with other clubs as well.
In the meantime, the Brazil international has been suspended during their game with Bournemouth. So far, he has missed four games for Wolves due to the ban. His fight with Milos Kerkez was the reason for his suspension during the FA Cup.
Although, he was set to miss only three matches but it later was increased to four. He will be available from this week.
Wolves’ performances in Cunha’s absence
Vitor Pereira’s club haven’t lost a game in their last four fixtures. The results include three wins and one draw. They have won their last three matches in a row. And now they have a 12 points lead against the last three placed teams in the league table.
The 25-year-old forward is still his side’s top goalscorer this season. He has netted 15 goals in all competitions in this campaign so far.
They taken on Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend. The Brazilian attacker will be available for the game as well.
