Mattia Binotto will “land on his feet” according to Guenther Steiner

Mattia Binotto F1

Mattia Binotto stepped down from his role as the Ferrari team principal after a disappointing 2022 season.

The 2022 season was a hard one for the Scuderia Ferrari. The team had a fantastic start before fading away. The team eventually lost both championships with a lot of criticism coming directed toward the management.

This ultimately led to the sacking of Mattia Binotto. The Italian was blamed for the major shortcomings of the team even after having a championship-worthy car.

The next step in the career of Binotto is still under speculation. For now, the Italian is on a paid leave period extended by the Scuderia. It is normal for big teams in case a big man like Binotto steps down to provide a “gardening” leave.

Regardless, his close friend, Guenther Steiner might have some information for his next move. When asked about Binotto’s next move, Steiner replied:

“I don’t know, you have to ask him that. I think he’s in a good place, I spoke with him at the beginning of the week and I think a guy like Mattia will land on his feet.”

A known Italian F1 reporter was also quoted saying this on the future of Binotto:

“I’m sure that Binotto will be able to stay in Formula 1 after the gardening period. I am absolutely certain that he has had a proposal from Audi to lead the team that will be on the grid in the near future.”

For now, both Red bull and Mercedes do not seem interested in Binotto joining their side. The Italian might be able to get a new start with the new entrant Audi.
