Maxwell was considered as the spin-all-rounder for the 2nd Test

Australia still plans to get Glenn Maxwell for the second test in Galle. The pitch is said to be a turning track. Cummins after assessing the pitch told reporters:

“Same 12, we are going to have a look at the wicket today, maybe in the morning as well and see what they end up doing with it. The wicket may be different to last week. Last week we probably didn’t need two quicks but we know Mitchell Starc’s class, so wait and see”

Maxwell who played his last test match back in 2017 will be batting at the eighth position. Maxi took 5 wickets in the ODI series. Talking about Maxi’s performance in the ODI series vs the hosts. The captain said

“I thought he was the pick of the bowlers in the one-day series. He was excellent,”
