The Formula 1 world celebrated the birthday of the Legendary Michael Schumacher on 3rd January. It was a bittersweet moment for the fans as they celebrated the 54th birthday of the German driver. Michael is still recovering from the ski accident which caused extensive brain injury.

His son, Mick Schumacher also made our hearts emotional. The ex-Haas driver took to his socials to share a photo of him with his father.

The photo’s caption read: “Happy birthday to the best Dad ever,” followed by a heart emoji and finished with “Love You!”.

The photo was followed by another one showcasing Michael behind the wheel of a car.

Meanwhile, the time in Mick Schumacher’s F1 career is low. Schumacher recently lost his F1 seat with his team Haas and will not be on the grid this year.

Mick Schumacher following his father’s footsteps

Mick Schumacher is set to start a new chapter in his F1 career. The 23-year-old will be working with Mercedes as a reserve driver in 2023. The move can be related to his father’s.

Michael Schumacher also joined Mercedes in 2010 to end his retirement term. Although the seven-time world champion failed to achieve anything significant with the new Mercedes team, one can wonder if Schumacher will also follow in his father’s footsteps to greatness. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff thinks so:

“Mick is someone that has always been close to our heart because of Michael or the whole Schumacher family,”

said the Austrian.

“[Mick] is an intelligent, well-mannered young man. He’s been very successful in junior formulas. We believe that we can look after him if the situation were to happen and with someone that just fits the team. I think he deserves a place and now we have to see if we can do something.”

Mick Schumacher will be now trying his best to get a seat back on the grid.
