Mick Schumacher to Alpine F1 in 2023?

Mick Schumacher might be inching close to bag a seat alongside Esteban Ocon for 2023 in Alpine F1. The latest move from Alpine F1 CEO indicates.

Mick Schumacher is struggling in Haas ever since his debut with the American team last year. Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has himself criticized the German on multiple occasions indicating an uncertain future with the team.

It is also rumored that Schumacher is struggling to keep up the confidence at Ferrari’s F1 driver development ‘academy’.

However, his uncle and former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher believe otherwise. Ralf thinks of Schumacher as a potential ‘candidate’ at Alpine as Fernando Alonso left. It is now almost certain Piastri will leave for McLaren making the seat alongside Esteban Ocon vacant.

“It turns out now that Laurent Rossi, the CEO of Alpine who has been mucking up a lot of stories over the past couple of years, has followed Mick Schumacher on social media,”

said Alexey Popov, the Russian F1 commentator for Match TV.

“Now everyone is saying ‘Maybe they won’t take Ricciardo after all. Mick, as we hear, is leaving the Ferrari academy and has problems at Haas.

“Even though he started to go better in the last races, the relationship has apparently been ruined,” Popov insisted.

“In short, Ocon is now the lead driver and Mick is young but has gained enough experience for his third season. So there is a lot of talk about him.

“Is it very likely? I don’t know, to be honest,”

the Russian admitted.

Daniel Ricciardo should be the first choice for Alpine F1. However, the silly season shenanigans have shown us many surprises and this could be no different now.
