Arsenal drew with defending Champion Manchester City in the Premier League. The Gunners made a trip to Etihad Stadium last weekend to meet Manchester City to continue their Premier League title hunt after the international break. The match ended with a 2-2 draw as both the teams shared one point each. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is extremely proud of his team’s performance despite the 2-2 draw with Manchester City.
Arsenal lost the title back-to-back two times in the last two seasons to Manchester City in the Premier League. So, the Gunners are determined to win the title this time around and hoping to make it third time lucky. The Gunners already dropped points after drawing with Brighton at home before the international break. Currently, they are fourth in the table with 11 points in five matches in the Premier League and Manchester City are leading the table with 13 points in five matches.

Manchester City took the lead in the match against within 10 minutes of the match after Erling Haalnad scored the opener for the Citizens. But the Gunners hit back in the 22nd minute as their newly signed defender Riccardo Calafiori scored his first Arsenal goal. After scoring the goal the Italian defender ran off to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for celebration.
Arsenal completed the comeback in the first half of extra time when center-defender Gabriel scored the second goal for the Gunners with a header. Gabriel is on the scoresheet in the second game running as he also scored the winning goal for Arsenal against the Spurs. Mikel Arteta praised the recent performance of Gabriel with Arsenal. However, Arsenal were became ten-man at the start of the first half after Leonardo Trossard was shown his second yellow card in the match.
City took advantage of one man and started dominating in the match. However, Pep Guardiola’s men failed to break the Gunners’ defense until the very last minute of the match when substitute John Stones scored the equalizer after Grealish and Gundogan worked a short-corner routine that gave the winger a chance to break into Arsenal’s penalty area, before cutting a pass back to Kovacic. Kovacic took the shot but blocked by the Arsenal defence and it fell in front of John Stones. The English international made no mistake and snatched the three points from Mikel Arteta and Arsenal.

After the match, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised his team’s performance and is looking forward to the upcoming matches. According to the sky sports, the Spaniard said,
“It’s unbelievable what the players did. The way we played in the normal conditions, which are super, super difficult, that’s why they haven’t lost here for 40-something games, and then the context we were thrown against 10 men for 55, 56 minutes. That is the story that tells the character of our players, I’m extremely proud of them.”
