Mikel Arteta provides Arsenal transfer update.

Arsenal are on a quest to complete the upheaval of the squad. The Gunners missed out on a top-four finish last season. This season, however, Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are looking to bolster a squad that will challenge in the European League as well as the Premier League. Arsenal have had a busy transfer window so far.

They have signed four players this transfer window. With the transfer of Oleksander Zinchenko looming large near the future, Arsenal are well on their way to strengthening their squad.

Gabriel Jesus has already made a shift to the Emirates and has been pretty impressive for Arsenal in their pre season. Arsenal have also signed Fabio Viera, Matt Turner and Marquinhos for their squad. However, Mikel Arteta is adamant that Arsenal have a lot of work to do this summer. Speaking to SkySports post one of their pre season friendlies, Arteta commented upon trying to sign more players this window:

“We’ve been trying to sign players earlier and we have two recruitments already. Until the end of the market we will keep trying to improve the squad and there are so many parties involved and sometimes things are not as quick as you want.” Arteta said.

Oleksander Zinchenko move to Arsenal is imminent, but Arteta is elusive when asked about the move

Arsenal are still linked with a host of players this summer. Gunners and Mikel Arteta are still trying to prise away Leicester’s target Yuri Tielemans. The Belgian midfielder has been a long-time target of Arsenal and they will be hard pressed to acquire his services. Manchester City midfielder.

According to the Athletic, Oleksander Zinchenko is very close to joining the Gunners this season. However, Arteta was elusive when asked about an update on the Zinchenko deal.

“There is no update with anybody and when there are updates we will let you know” said Arteta, “We’re looking at different options in different positions and we’ll give you an update when we have it”

Arteta was all praises for former Manchester City player Gabriel Jesus too. The 25-year-old player has found the back of the net in consecutive games. Arteta said:

“Jesus has a smile on his face and he feels important. He’s bringing a special energy to the group and big experience.”
