“Most complete midfielder” offers himself to Arsenal and Liverpool

Italian midfield ace Marco Verratti has offered himself to Arsenal and Liverpool. The player’s entourage are aware of the two clubs desperation to sign a quality midfielder. The Gunners are working really hard to sign Mikel Merino this summer but in case they fail to land him, the Italian could be a great alternative.

Liverpool had a ‘flop’ transfer window as the Reds failed to sign Martin Zubimendi. The club has been slammed by fans and pundits for not having any alternative for the Spaniard. New boss Arne Slot desperately needs a midfielder to improve their squad depth. The 31 year old midfield ace can be a brilliant replacement for Thiago if he arrives at Anfield.

Marco Verratti moved to Qatari club Al Arabi lured by the riches of the middle east. However, his contract is nearing its end tempting him to switch back to Europe. He is a serial winner, the most decorated player in PSG‘s history. The 31 year old was a key player for Italy when they won the Euros in 2021.

He may have not played in Europe for quite some time but one cannot undermine his experience. Football legends Xavi and Lionel Messi claimed that the Italian is “one of the finest and complete midfielders in the world.” Both Arsenal and Liverpool have young squads compared to their rivals. Having an experienced midfielder and leader like Verratti could be a game changer for them.

Marco Verratti: Lost star to rise again at the Premier league?

Italian football icon Marco Verratti was forgotten as he switched to the middle east. The 31 year old had a mediocre stint at Al Arabi. The Qatari club have doubts regarding his fitness and are not willing to renew his contract. The player has asked his entourage to look for clubs in Europe as per reports by HITC.

The player had also offered himself to Barcelona but the club rejected the Italian. The 31 year old had rejected the Catalans in 2017 which hurt the clubs sentiments. The player is now looking for a fresh start somewhere in the Premier league. Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are monitoring the situation.

Verratti could be a massive boost for any club right now. Although he has fitness concerns, a good medical team can easily revive him. He is a fighter on the pitch and gives everything to win duels and create chances. He likes having possession of the ball and is a master of long passing. When he gets going it is nearly impossible to get the ball off him. He is regarded as one of the most complete midfielders in the world.

A move to Arsenal or Liverpool can give his career yet another boost. He is hungry to win more trophies and personal accolades. He is a club legend of PSG, having 416 caps. The Italian icon has provided 61 assists and scored 11 goals for the Les Parisiens.

Former teammate Ashraf Hakimi felt lucky to be able to share dressing room with the Italian in PSG. He admitted that the 31 year old is one of the best players he has played with. He says;

“The list is enormous, I’ve played with Ronaldo, Benzema, Haaland, Lukaku, Neymar, Messi and Mbappé. But there are some you forgot to mention. Here in Paris, Marco Verratti really surprised me. He’s a top player that I’d seen on TV, but playing alongside him is completely different.”

Football legend backs Arsenal to lift Premier league title

British football icon Harry Redknapp is backing Arsenal to win the Premier league title this season. He feels that the Man City squad is getting older and fitness concerns are rising. The club captains of the Cityzens- Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker have suffered injuries last season and their performance have dropped. Redknapp feels that this season they could underperform due to certain missing elements in the team.

Arsenal on the other hand have improved their squad by a huge margin. The 77 year old thinks that the Gunners have the advantage of youth which could help them overthrow Manchester City this year. The manager and the players will be even more hungry to win the title this season after failing to win consecutively twice on the narrowest of margins.

The Gunners begin their Premier league campaign on Saturday against Wolves. The Gunners have very difficult fixtures ahead. They face Man City, Aston Villa and Tottenham, all away from home. Therefore, it is important for Mikel Arteta and co. to get off to a good start to their season. The team is full of confidence as they thrashed the German champions Bayer Leverkusen 4-1 in a friendly.
