Mumbai Indians Lose Steam at the Business End

IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians had a rough start in both the legs of the game. In the first leg, MI was losing their matches but they were playing good matches. In the second leg when IPL began in Dubai, MI played more severe games and ended up in a tough situation. No one would have thought that Mumbai Indians will lose their business like this at the end.

It will be difficult for MI fans to accept that MI led by Rohit Sharma who have been the five-time IPL Title winners won’t even make it to the playoffs.

It’s all because of the legacy created by Rohit Sharma and his team. Fans looked disappointed in the last match against SRH even after Mumbai Indians winning the game.

They were very close to the playoffs that the only consideration for the number fourth spot was the run-rate of the teams. KKR has a slightly better run rate than Mumbai Indians. Thus Kolkata Knight Riders got into the playoffs and MI didn’t.

T20 Cricket Is full Of Uncertain Results as Mumbai Indians were knocked out of the tournament

Mumbai Indians had a bad season in terms of winning the matches. But they played some really good matches. And the best game came against SRH which was the last league stage game before the Playoffs. Mumbai won the game by 42 runs and secured 14 points that are same as of KKR. But apparently, it wasn’t enough as MI had a poor run-rate relative to KKR.

T20 cricket is unpredictable. One day you’re winning matches and the other losing badly. But MI has been consistent for years with their over the top performances in IPL. MI has earned a big reputation in T20 cricket over the years. Every team face a challenge to play against MI. Though this year of IPL wasn’t favourable to Mumbai Indians, they will certainly come back stronger next year.
