The 18-year-olds now, they have got no fear whatsoever. He’s got that Mousa Dembele trait where he uses his body to get away from stuff.

The personality and character, honestly, he’s unbelievable.”

The young full-back could soon be part of the England’s senior squad. After reports of Tuchel keeping an eye on him, he’ll surely want be part of the World Cup qualifiers.

Gary Neville’s remarks on Lewis-Skelly

Gary Neville thinks Myles’s playing style and former Man Utd player Patrice Evra’s is similar.

On It’s Called Soccer Podcast, Neville said: “I just want to correct one thing. I said ‘Ashley Cole’ on Sunday about Myles when he burst onto the scene.

“But the style of play of Lewis-Skelly, in terms of how he runs with the ball, is exactly like Patrice Evra. Evra used to get the ball on the half-turn and go past people. People would bang on him and he’d ride the challenge, go past them and you would think, ‘How’s he done that?’

“I think when he dribbles with the ball and he passes and he works his way into those inside positions. Evra was the very best at that I’ve seen in terms of that underlap and being in those left channels, he was unbelievable at it. When he’s on the ball he does remind me a lot of Patrice.”

Arteta has also praised the Gunners academy product. He said: “I think it’s very rare to see 18-year-olds playing against (Dejan) Kulusevski and (Brennan) Jhonson in a big London derby. To perform for the first time with that composure, attitude and that control emotionally, it’s very rare to see.”

Author’s Opinion

The kind of talent Lewis-Skelly has is impressive. It would be a great news for him and his supporters if he gets called-up for his nation.
