Rennes center-back Nayef Aguerd is set to jet into the UK to undergo a medical with West Ham. This will happen when he’s finished on international duty with Morocco.
NAYEF AGUERD – WEST HAM TRANSFER SAGA STORY
The media reports in Morocco report that a final agreement has been reached for the 26-year-old to leave Rennes and head to the London stadium. This update came before it was reported that Aguerd was dropped out of the Morocco squad. The player was replaced by Achraf Dari. The report claims Aguerd has been released from international duty early due to injury. There are also reports that the player is not injured. The defender has taken permission to complete his move to West Ham.
INJURY STILL A CONCERN FOR THE CLUB
If Aguerd is really injured then it could cause a small issue with signing him. If the injury is serious, the London club might opt against signing him. However, there are said to be no problems with Hammers finalising a deal with Rennes and the player side. Medicals are only done to check out for underlying issues that need sorting out. A player might have a big injury, but medical still isn’t going to be an issue. However, the reality is Morocco simply don’t need him against Liberia. They might as well leave the defender out to ensure he doesn’t get injured ahead of a potential transfer move. Another possibility might be that Aguerd could have asked permission to be left out to ensure everything runs smoothly and no risks are taken.
The assumption for the moment is agreement is in place. The Moroccan defender is going to the U.K for medicals. The only way injury might have been caused would be an injury while training. The training injury also looks like a far-fetched assumption. Nayef Aguerd looks like he is set to move to Premier League.
