New report claims Real Madrid are in for Raul de Tomas

Raul de Tomas, Six Sports

Raul de Tomas is the subject of interest from Real Madrid, Spanish sources claim.

One of the top attackers in the world at the moment plays for Real Madrid, which is a blessing. Last season, Karim Benzema demonstrated his talent by scoring hat-tricks against Chelsea and PSG on the way to a Champions League victory. It’s highly possible that the Frenchman will also take home the Ballon d’Or.

He is currently just shy of 30 nevertheless. He appears to be in superb physical condition despite his rather older age. It would be unwise to enter a demanding season with Benzema as the only striker on the team, though. Mariano Diaz is the designated deputy striker at the moment. However, Madrid are looking to move him on. Other attacking names like Gareth Bale, Isco and Luka Jovic have also departed. As a result, the Los Blancos are looking for new forwards.

Raul de Tomas situation

Raul de Tomas has reportedly been brought up in Madrid circles as a possible source of cover, claims Spanish news portal Fichajes.

The Spanish striker had a productive 2021/22 season, making 34 appearances for Espanyol and scoring 17 goals in La Liga. De Tomas wants to start a new journey this summer, but his future is uncertain during the current transfer window. Real Madrid are one of the interested parties. Espanyol have also signed Joselu on a free transfer this season in case of a departure.

Raul de Tomas is a product of the Real Madrid academy. However, he was never able to crack it in the first team. He moved away for more game time. He is now one of Spain’s regarded strikers. His stature has grown significantly since leaving Real Madrid. As a result, he has another shot at making it at his boyhood club.
