Nightmare continues for Dele Alli as Everton considering cutting ties with former Spurs player

Everton signed Dele Alli in January for a deal that could cost them £40million following Frank Lampard’s appointment. However, the England international is struggling with the Merseyside club too with game time. He hasn’t started a single game and has only made 6 appearances. This was supposed to be his revival by working under Lampard at Everton.

Dele Alli was one of the biggest talents in England and had a lot of potential going forward. However, after the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, Alli was not able to enjoy his life at Spurs. Mourinho’s straightforward approach also did not seem to help him. Moreover, he was also not a key part of Conte’s plans when the Italian boss arrived.

Tottenham Hotspur still have not gotten any money for his transfer. It was agreed upon that the fees will be paid in installments. Spurs were ready to receive the first installment of £10million after Alli makes 20 appearances with the Toffees. However, that seems a very tough objective to reach for the player. Spurs have not benefitted in any which ways after selling Dele Alli.

According to TEAMtalk, Dele Alli could see himself out of the club after spending just a few months. Moreover, his former club has also not received any kinds of funds from the transfer. Whereas Everton is also not having the best time with him on the pitch. This was supposed to be a fresh start to Alli’s career but it has not hit a new low.

Why is Dele Alli struggling at Everton?

Dele Alli suffered a few hamstring injuries during his time at Tottenham and since he has continued struggling. Although he is now fit, he is struggling to make the impact he previously did when he was introduced. Since Alli did not have regular first-team game time for a long time, it is possible that he is struggling here because of that too.

Moreover, Lampard had mentioned that the new players have to prove themselves that they are ready to play. The players have to work hard in training before they get a shout in the starting lineup. It is possible that Lampard may not be convinced with Dele Alli in training. At this point, Everton cannot risk anything and they have to start the best players in every game to win points.

It is possible that Dele Alli may have lost some motivation after facing some setbacks. Therefore, he needs good momentum to get into the game again. He lacks the necessary hunger to win or to carry his team when they are down. He might be able to get that again if he plays a few games well with a few goals or assists to his name.

If Everton does think of parting ways with Alli, they could let him leave on a loan. Alli’s raw talent is still very high and many clubs like Newcastle could come asking for the player. Everton hasn’t paid any transfer fee to Spurs but could in turn profit if they sell the player to another player on a permanent basis. Moreover, if Lampard works with Alli on an individual level, maybe then the player could get his form back.
