No problem for Chelsea, as the Blues cruise through into the next round of the Carabao Cup after beating League Two side Barrow by 5-0 at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku scored his first Chelsea hat trick which helped the Blues to beat Barrow easily. Summer signing Pedro Neto also scored his first Chelsea goal since his joining in the summer from Premier League side Wolves. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca praised his team’s performance.
Christopher Nkunku scored his first Chelsea goal
Christopher Nkunku scored his sixth goal of this season across all competitions including the hat trick. The Frenchman is in great form compared to his last season performance. The 26-year-old suffered most of the last season on injuries, making only 14 appearances across all competitions and scoring 3 goals. So, this is a great start for the Frenchman in this season. Before the start of the regular season, in the pre-season Christopher Nkunku scored three goals in his six appearances. And that good form continues as the former Leipzig man continues giving his best on the field.
Neto scored his first goal while Felix provided his first assist for the Blues
Summer signing Pedro Neto scored his first Chelsea goal. The former Wolves forward joined the Blues in the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old made six appearances across all competitions but no luck for the Portuguese international. However, Neto scored his first Chelsea goal in his Carabao Cup debut against Barrow. Another summer signing Joao Felix also made his first goal contribution in the same match after assisting the first goal for Christopher Nkunku. Chelsea paid a huge amount of money to Joao Felix and P[edro Neto during the summer transfer window. So, the Blues are delighted that their investment are working very good.
Chelsea are unbeaten in the last four matches across all competitions including the Carabao Cup match against Barrow. The Blues have scored 10 goals in the last four matches and conceded only one. Enzo Maresca is very happy with the team’s performance and looking forward to continuing this form in the upcoming matches. Enzo Maresca’s men will face either Newcastle or AFC Wimbledon in the next round of the Carabao Cup.
