The UAE T20 League, named the International League T20 (ILT20), has targeted fifteen Australia National Cricket Team players. The inaugural edition of the tournament offered them huge contracts worth up to $700,000 (5,54,42,800 INR) a year to participate by abandoning the Big Bash League.

The league will be a 6-team tournament and is all set to commence next year. The league will have 34-matches and each team will face the others twice.

Chris Lynn is eager to sign on with the UAE league and lost his remunerative deal with the Brisbane Heat. If he signs to BBL, it would be difficult for him to play UAE T20 league.

Greenberg said,

“I’ve been really heartened by the maturity of the players in response. Beacuase after a discussion and communication and a bit more context, they’re not just thinking about the short-term”

“This is an issue that’s not going away. And which is why we’ve got to work together and grow the revenue for the sport, so we can be competitive.”

And also mentioned,

“That’s the big challenge confronting the game, and players being offered significant commercial opportunities abroad while players still want to play centrally for their country. This is an issue that’s not going away. And which is why we’ve got to work together and grow the revenue for the sport, so we can be competitive.”
