Tottenham Hotspur superstar, Cristian Romero, lauds his teammate, Micky Van De Ven. He also believes that Van De Ven is not credited enough for what he does.
Tottenham signed Micky from German side Wolfsburg last summer. Since then, the Dutchman has been a revelation for the club under Postecoglou and has transformed the defence line.
Micky has already established himself as one of the best young defenders in the Premier League. His performances have helped the Londoners tighten up at the back. Despite this, the World Cup winner said that he is less talked because of the lack of marketing and hype around him.
What did Romero say about Van De Ven?
Speaking in an interview, Romero said, “In this moment, Micky is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League. But marketing plays a big part in how people see you here — that’s why he is not spoken about enough.
He doesn’t get any publicity and is not built up at all. But he’s doing so well and we hope that he can continue — I am so happy for him. He’s young, hungry and wants to get to the next level. He has a great career ahead.”
Its not a doubt that Micky is an indispensable asset for the North Londoners since his move. He is strong, fast and does not get bullied easily by the opposition. Moreover, the Australian manager’s system is also high-line amd fast paced playing and Van De Ven is perfect for that.
His return from injury has given Spurs fans a sigh of relief on their quest for the Champions League spot for next season. The COYS will be hoping for more such transfers in the upcoming transfer markets. If Tottenham are to finish in the top four, Micky will be one of the most prominent reasons for that.
