Olympics 2020: Preview and Prediction for Germany

Germany reached the finals at the 2016 Olympics before losing to the hosts. The Germans are heading towards Tokyo as one of the favourites. Moreover, they would be keen to get their payback against the defending champions.

Rio 2016 silver-medalist have assembled a local squad, as all 22 players called up from the Bundesliga. In addition to Max Kruse and Maximilian Arnold making their return for the German National Team.

Germany have been placed in Group D along with Brazil, Ivory Coast, and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Germany kick-off their campaign by facing the defending champions Brazil. After that, they will be playing Ivory coast and Saudi Arabia in the competition.

The Germans look like a very attacking side with Max Kruse playing in the number-9 position. Further, the 24-year-old Nadiem Amiri will feature in the second striker role. In addition, Wolfsburg’s Maximilian Arnold will play a defensive role in the midfield.

To sum up, Germany have been placed in a very difficult group as Brazil and Ivory Coast are keen to challenge for the two-top spot in the group. Further, Germany looks like a side ready to challenge for the winner’s spot. As they would like to make amends for the mistakes made during Rio 2016.
