TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Paul Merson issues a good news for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their clash with Brighton

Tottenham Hotspur will be locking horns with Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League this week. Now, Paul Merson shares a good news for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of Brighton game.

The Lilywhites will be looking to get back to the winning ways after suffering a late equaliser against Everton. However, they have done sincerely well in the absence of their skipper, Heung Min Son. They have lost just one of their last five games, and that came against Manchester City in the FA Cup. They have also scored eight goals during that run.

Nevertheless, Spurs fans will be delighted to see a surprise exit of South Korea to the hands of Jordan in the knockouts. Speaking to Sportskeeda, Paul Merson suggested that having the captain back is huge for Postecoglou’s men. He said,

Having Son Heung-min back is going to be a massive boost for Ange Postecoglou. They’ve lacked a bit of cutting edge on the counterattack with Timo Werner and Brennan Johnson, but Son brings something entirely different with his cleverness in the final third. This is a big game for Tottenham as Aston Villa have hit a bit of a snag, so a win would be a massive boost to their hopes of finishing in the top four.”

It will be inquisitive to see who will be losing the spot to fit Son in the line-up. The North Londoners have welcomed back James Maddison and Timo Werner is also making headlines with his performance. Though, Ange may look to start the Asian in his preferred left wing position, leaving behind Timo Werner. Despite the title looking far from their reach, they can still try and retain their spot in the top four for Champions League qualification.
