Paul Pogba is reportedly leaning towards signing a new Manchester United contract.

Pogba has entered the final year of his current contract at United. Real Madrid is a possible destination for Pogba if he decides to leave Manchester. He could join them on a free transfer next summer. Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in signing Pogba on a pre-contract agreement in January.

The World Cup winner has been on Madrid’s radar for a long time. The Spanish giants were supposedly confident of securing Pogba’s signature in 2022. However, recent developments might mean Los Blancos may not get their wish after all.

Saturday’s 4-1 win against Newcastle had a significant bearing on Paul Pogba’s thinking over his future. There are many factors to consider, but now there is a genuine chance that once talks resume, an extension may follow.

According to Sky Sports, Paul Pogba is said to be impressed by Manchester United’s recruitment over the summer. That could play a big role in him signing a contract extension.

Ole: Trophies can persuade Paul Pogba to stay at United

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the return of Cristiano Ronaldo can help Manchester United win trophies again. This might persuade Paul Pogba to commit his long-term future to the club.

When asked about Pogba’s current situation, Solskjaer said: “It’s up to us to get results and to prove to ourselves that we can win trophies.

“I think everyone that signs for Manchester United wants to win trophies and be part of a winning Manchester United.

“It’s the most magical feeling in the world to be part of a winning Manchester United team.”

The French playmaker is already up to seven assists in the Premier League this season. Pogba grabbed two of those on Saturday, taking his overall tally to 38 goals and 49 assists in 210 games for United across all competitions.

The 28-year-old has a fantastic relationship with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the rest of the coaching staff and players. He loves the club but wants to make the right decision for him and his family.
