According to Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell, Pep Guardiola “may walk” at the end of the season having not signed a new contract. The Man City boss has 12 months left on his contract but so far has refused to extend his stay beyond the 2022/23 season.

The Daily Mail have claimed that the Spaniard will make an official decision on his future during the upcoming World Cup break.

Kevin Campbell comments on Guardiola’s future

When asked whether it was obvious that Guardiola would sign a new contract with Man City, Kevin replied:

I’m not sure it is.

It has gone quite quiet. He should not be allowed to get down to the final seven months of his contract. If I was a Man City fan I would be worried.

At the end of the day, he may walk at the end of the season. Guardiola is the key to everything. Right now, he is not secure.

From a player’s and a fan’s point of view, it is a concern. There is an element of doubt.

Listen, he might sign a new deal in the break. But there is a serious risk of things being unsettled.”

Guardiola is considered one of the best coach but he’s yet to win a Champions League title with Man City. No doubt he has won back-to-back League titles but Man City’s owner has been investing in his squad for a Champions League title.

The Spaniard’s number is undoubtedly great in the top flight, Winning 276 games, drawing 43, and losing just 54 of his 373 matches in charge.
