Arsenal went eigh points clear atop after Manchester City lost 2-1 to Manchester United. Gunner’s successful campaign will hurt even more with Oleksandr Zinchenko impressing.
Pep Guardiola sold the 26 years old over the summer and might regret the decision soon. Man City has failed to find a replacement for Ukrainian International. Meanwhile, Zinchenko has been impressing with Arsenal and is on their way to Winning the Premier League title with them.
Zinchenko has made 14 appearances in all competitions and outperforms City’s fullbacks. It hasn’t looked like a smart move to let him go.
Stats might make Pep Guardiola regret his decision
Stats show that Ukrainian International has an average of 1.7 tackles per game which puts him second in City squad with Joao Cancelo. He has an average of 0.6 interceptions per game which puts him fourth in the City squad with Nathan Ake.
Zinchenko has an average of 1.2 clearances per game, which puts him ahead of Rodri (1.1). The left-back also has an average of chances created (0.5) per game which is more than Kyle Walker (0.4), Rico Lewis (0.3), and Gomez (0.4).
The 26-years old also has an average of 0.4 accurate crosses per game, putting him above Lewis (0.2) and Walker (0) while being level with Gomez (0.4).
These stats show that City needs a natural left-back as Gomez doesn’t feature enough in Premiere League games. It looks even more foolish letting Zinchenko leave and join League leaders.
