Perfect Manager: Liverpool Interview Imminent as Xabi Alonso Move Ruled Out

Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool has withdrawn from the competition to name Xabi Alonso their new manager. Everyone at Liverpool desired the Spaniard to succeed Jurgen Klopp. Although Alonso appeared to be the chosen one, reports have indicated that the Reds are no longer interested in him because he wishes to remain at Bayer Leverkusen. A number of managerial positions will open at Liverpool in the summer. Which means that Michael Edwards and Richards Hughes will need to find a replacement.

Currently leading their team in the league, a manager is reportedly the front-runner to succeed Klopp at Anfield.

Liverpool will invite a foreign manager for an interview

For Liverpool, Xabi Alonso would have been an intriguing choice. One of the greatest football managers in the world is Jurgen Klopp. Any manager facing the daunting task of replacing him must proceed with caution when selecting their new manager.

Due to his past with Liverpool, Alonso would have had the unwavering support of the supporters even during trying times; however, he will not be joining the Merseysiders this summer. The Daily Mail has reported that Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim is now the front-runner for the Liverpool position, as the Reds are reportedly considering other options.

According to the report, Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton is alsoin the list with the Portuguese. Furthermore, it has been disclosed that Amorim, whose Sporting Lisbon team is leading the Portuguese League table, is scheduled for an interview following his strong performance on data tests of Liverpool.

Amorim, who is only 39 years old, has a deal with Sporting that expires in the summer of 2026. Fabrizio Romano, though, has disclosed that he possesses a release clause that would enable him to be acquired for £26 million.

Ruben Amorim’s win percentage compared to Jurgen Klopp’s

Currently one of Europe’s most gifted young managers is Ruben Amorim. The 39-year-old’s win percentage after 202 games as Sporting Lisbon’s manager is 69.8%. He had a 76.9%-win rate during his brief tenure at Braga. Conversely, Jurgen Klopp’s win percentage at Liverpool is 62.4 percent, and it was even lower at Borussia Dortmund .

That’s exactly the reason why Nigel Reo-Coker thinks Amorim ‘is the perfect choice‘ to replace Klopp at Liverpool this summer.
