Peter Crouch shares that he is amazed by the reaction of Liverpool supporters for their forward

Peter Crouch says that he is stunned by the reception of Liverpool fans for the 24-year old striker. Crouch highlights the treatment of Liverpool supporters towards Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan has needed some time to get going at Liverpool. There was huge expectation on his shoulders when he arrived in 2022. And he did appear to struggle to deal with that level of pressure. Nevertheless, he has got a more prominent role in the club after the departure of Roberto Firmino.

He has been involved in 10 goals and also scoring 10 for himself so far in all competitions this season. Owing to his 13 goal contributions in the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp sits top of the table. Ofcourse, only player to understand a slow start st Liverpool can be none other than Peter Crouch. The Englishman failed to score in his first 19 appearances for the Reds. But he went on to have a record of slightly worse than a goal every three games in all competitions. He said on talkSPORT,

He’s in the best place for him to blossom. I remember my time when I signed for Liverpool, I had a really difficult spell at the start. But the thing with Darwin Nunez, yeah he’s had a few teething problems and I think he is still a bit raw. And what’s amazing is the fans, how well they’ve stuck by him. He has got that support, that confidence of the manager, his teammates and the fans as well.”

Nunez has 39 goals in 74 games for the Merseyside club in all competitions. He certainly has an impact on the club and fans also know that he is not just a mere goalscorer for the club. Moreover, the supporters can often tolerate things not going well when it is clear that their players are giving absolutely everything.
