Pinky finger celebration: The story behind

The English batter Joe Root carried out this celebration on scoring a century at Edgbaston. This comes while England chased a record-breaking target at Edgbaston. The England team looked better than ever while chasing the target which proved to be the best.

While the test match saw a good end to the series. However, there was one thing that caught everyone’s eye. The number one test match batter and skipper Ben Stokes was seen doing the Pinky finger celebration. It is now said that this celebration was inspired by legendary singer Elvis Persley.

This new celebration has been taken by the newly arrived movie Elvis about the legendary Elvis Presley. In the movie, the Actor can be seen using the pinky finger in many parts. According to some teammates, Skipper watched the movie a night before an all-important match. Meanwhile, Stokes was also seen charging the boys to entertain as much as possible in the test. However, this might be also the reason why the team performed extremely well in the match.

Meanwhile, upon asking Root about this celebration he admitted feeling like a rockstar as shown in the movie for a few seconds. Root also said

“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to feel or look like a rockstar,”

The exceptional performance of the English team

Centuries by two in-form batter in the English side saw them completing the target way too easily. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow made their well-deserved centuries against the bowling attack of India which seemed a bit off-track in the 4th Innings. These knocks on Tuesday marked the end of the series with a 2-2 score line. While Joe Root who was seen in a different form remained not out at 142. While Jonny remained not out on 114. Both the 269 partnership batter have been in tremendous form.

Since the Captain and coach took their new roles, the team has performed exceptionally well. England has won all four test matches this year.
