Formula 1 official Tyre supplier Pirelli recently announced the arrival of a new Tyre compound.

Pirelli has officially announced the available Tyre compounds for the first three races of the 2023 season. The Italian manufacturer will look into the different track characteristics and climates to decide on the three Tyre compounds for every race.

The compounds were earlier divided into 5 different categories from C1 to C5. However, this year, a new option will be added to the list. The Italian manufacturer will now be choosing from six options ranging from C0 to C5.

Last year’s C1 has now become C0 while C1 is a new type that is coming between C0 and C2. C0 is now the hardest Tyre while C5 is the softest.

For the season opener in Bahrain, Pirelli has opted for the brand-new compound along with C2 and C3. Whereas, for Australia and Saudi Arabia, the Italian manufacturer has opted for  C2, C3 and C4 options.

Similar to the seasons prior, the mediums will be marked with yellow strip. Hards and softs will be marked with white and red stripes respectively.

In addition to that, the blue striped wet tyres and green intermediates will also be availaible at all the races. These are espescially meant for wet weather conditions when slick tyres become ineffective.

For every race weekend in F1, each driver is proveided with 13 sets of slick or dry tyres. Furthermore, they are also provided with four sets of intermediates alongside three sets of wet tyres.

During the main race on Sunday, a driver has to use minimum two different tyre compounds given the race conditions are dry throughout.
