Premier league clubs on the prowl for “outcast” Barcelona forward

Former Manchester City forward Ferran Torres is now linked with a move to Arsenal. The Spaniard has fallen out of order at Hansi Flick’s team. If the recent reports are to be believed, Barcelona are open to selling the forward. However, they will only sell him if a good offer comes to their table.

The Catalan giants bought him for a hefty price from the English champions. However, he hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations. This season he’s started only five games out of ten. He has scored only one goal and provided two assists.

Now, the 24-year old is out of action due to injury after suffering from a hamstring injury. Hansi Flick’s team are on a demolition job right now as they’re hammering every side they are facing right now. When Torres returns, him making a comeback in this squad would be quite difficult for him.

Arsenal desperately need a forward to bolster their attack. Gabriel Jesus has been quite inconsistent with his form. Other alternatives like Gyokeres are a bit expensive for the Gunners’. Mikel Arteta has previously worked with the 24-year old at Manchester. He could definitely try and bring out the best from the Spaniard.

Ferran Torres keen on redeeming his career at Barcelona

Despite getting offers previously, he has shown his desire to wear the Barรงa badge and play for the club. His stance still remains the same regarding a possible move out of the club. As per reports by El Nacional Catalunya, the forward is determined to remain in Flick’s project and fight for a place in the team.

Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United have also shown interest in signing the 24-year old. The club will listen to the manager’s decision and then make a final decision regarding Ferran. Also Barca must sell players to reduce wage bills. The signings of Pau Victor and Dani Olmo have increased their wage bill by some margin.

Sporting director Deco and the club’s coaches trust the 24-year old and have faith in him. When he makes a comeback from the injury, he’ll be assessed further and after that only a decision will be made. Ferran dreams of succeeding at Barcelona and make a name for himself at the historic Camp Nou.

Ferran is a versatile forward and can shoot from both feet. Pep once hailed him as a “great talent” and his ability to find spaces in the opposition defence is brilliant. He knows when to time his runs and score goals. He might make a comeback at Barcelona, but a transfer in the January window is practically impossible.

Barรงa owe Man City over ยฃ20m

Barcelona still haven’t cleared their debts to Man City for the Ferran Torres deal. The Catalan giants owe more than ยฃ22m to the Cityzens. Former financial advisor of the Sky Blues’ has criticised Barcelona and claimed that they’ve done such incomplete deals in the past too.

Torres costed Barcelona around ยฃ46.3million, including ยฃ8.4million in potential add-ons. But the latest reports reveal that the Catalans still owe around ยฃ22million for the Spaniard.

The whole world is aware of Barcelona’s financial crisis and their president pulling financial levers to keep the club running at the highest level. However, this is quite embarassing for a club with such reputation.

Stefan Borson, former financial advisor of Man City has taken a dig at the Spanish club. The accounts have been held in such a way that even for accountants it’s difficult to understand. He revealed that the club do not disclose various details of the deals to cover things up very smoothly.
