Prithvi Shaw, Six Sports

The Ranji Trophy final between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh is in full swing.

Prithvi Shaw, Mumbai’s captain is happy to be leading the team in the tournament.

He is also excited to be playing against Chandrakant Pandit who he affectionately calls ‘Chandu sir’.

Mumbai are 41-time champions in the domestic tournament and Shaw wants to win the trophy one more time for his side.

Shaw made his debut in the Ranji Trophy in 2016-17 when Pandit was the head coach of Mumbai.

Pandit is now the head coach of Madhya Pradesh and has made it to the finals of the Ranji Trophy after the season of 1998-99.

Shaw wants his boys to play well and take the game just like another U-19 or U-25 game.

Sarfaraz Khan and Shams Mulani are the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker respectively.

Shaw did not have a good season so far as he managed to score 264 runs at an average of 33.

For India, Shaw last played a Test match 2 years back at Adelaide.

Some reporters were curious and wanted to know whether Shaw will be making a return to the Indian Test setup.

Shaw calmly replied that he is not thinking of that at the moment.

He just wants to win the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai at the moment.
