The French champions PSG have been in great form this season. The club is yet to lose their first match of this season, scored 20 goals in the French league, and conceded only 5. PSG also win their first Champions League against Spanish side Girona . Now, the Les Parisiens are going to face last season’s Premier League runners up Arsenal in the Champions League. Recently, PSG boss, Luis Enrique, talked about Arsenal and about the playing style of the Gunners.
Luis Enrique tagged Arsenal as “One of the best teams in Europe”
Former FC Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique, talked about the Gunners. This week Arsenal and PSG will go head to head for the Champions League fixtures. Talking with the reporters Enrique praised the Current Arsenal sqaud and tagged them one of the best teams in Europe at the moment. He said,
“I think they are one of the best teams in Europe at the moment. With the ball they are a team very close to the top European level and without the ball they are also very good.”
Apart from this the PSG manager also talked about Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and his managerial tactica. Enrique also talked about Arsenal playing style and he is very much delighted how the Gunners are playing in the recent times under their Spanish manager Mikel Arteta. Talking about this , Enrique said,
“I would even say that they are one of the best teams in the world without the ball. They are a team with a real identity. We are similar but also have different styles of play.”
He added,
“I have good memories of him as a team-mate. He had a great career as a player, he had a very successful end to his career,”
Luis Enrique and Mikel Arteta played together very briefly at Barcelona. However, Arteta established himself in the Premier League with Everton and Arsenal. On the other hand, Enrique spent most of his professional career in spain with Real Madrid and Barcelona, made 157 and 207 appearences respectively. However, both of them are now famous for their managerial masterclass with their respective teams.
Arsenal and PSG will go head to head in the Champions League
Both Mikel Arteta and Luis Enrique are still unbeaten in this season. These two will now meet on the big stage as the Gunners will welcome PSG in the Champions League. Arsenal are coming in the match with a 5-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup followed by a 4-2 win over Leicester City in the Premier League. The Gunners are currently in the third position in the Premier League. However, Arsenal are out of the automatic qualification of the Champions league round of 16 after the first Champions League matchday. So, a win is must for the Gunners.
On the other side, PSG are coming in the match after a draw with Reims followed by a 3-1 home win over Rennes. PSG are currently the table topper in the French league with 16 points in the first six matches. PSG are in a good position in the Champions League table due to their win over Girona in the matchday one of the Champions League.
