PSG Boss Rules Out Zidane As Manager

PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi has denied any contact with Zinedine Zidane for the position of manager.

The Ligue 1 champions are in search of a new manager, after Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking. Zinedine Zidane was tipped as one of the favorites to succeed the former Spurs boss. His pedigree in the Champions League was supposedly attractive to PSG.

However, there has been no contact. Al-Khelaifi has ruled out the possibility of the French legend coming to the Parc des Princes.

I just want to make it clear that I liked Zidane as a player and I like him as a coach, but we haven’t spoken to him directly or indirectly, ever.

Al-Khelaifi an interview with Marca

We chose a different option other than Zidane. We have chosen a manager who will be better for what we are trying to put together

.These claims were backed up by Zidane’s advisor in an interview with Le Equipe

All of these rumours which are going around are unfounded. To this day, I am the only person who is authorised to represent and advise Zinedine Zidane. Neither Zinedine Zidane nor myself have been directly contacted by the owner of PSG

I also highly doubt that his majesty the Emir of Qatar, Cheikh Tamin Ben Hamad Al Thani, would go through social media or media in order to manager his business. I’m not even sure if he’s really interested in Zidane arriving.

What Next At PSG?

Christopher Galtier is set to take over the reins at Paris. The former-Lille boss has been a party pooper for PSG in the last couple of years. He ended their dominance in the league with Lille in 2020/21, and knocked them out of the French cup last season with Nice.

Now, it will be interesting to see what the two conjure up together.
