According to reports, PSG are still hopeful of persuading French star Kylian Mbappe to sign a new deal at the club. The French star is out of contract next summer and Real Madrid are keen to bring in Mbappe on a free transfer next summer.
Kylian Mbappe has been on top form this term and has been the main man of the team this season. He has made 24 appearances in all competitions for PSG this term and has recorded an impressive 15 goals and 15 assists. (stats via Transfermarkt)
Mbappe initially came through the AS Monaco youth system and made his breakthrough there. He joined Paris Saint-Germain back in 2018. Since his move, he has made a total of 195 appearances in all competitions for PSG. In this time he has recorded 147 goals and 76 assists for the club. (stats via Tranfermarkt)
With his contract at the Parc des Princes set to expire next term, Mbappe is free to negotiate a pre-contract with other clubs in January. But PSG are still hopeful of keeping hold of the French World Cup winner. Kylian Mbappe in a recent interview ruled out any possibility of a switch to Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
He said:
“I’m in PSG. I’m very happy here and I will finish the season, 100%.”
“I was honest. I gave a feeling, I gave what I have in my heart,” “I’m happy to stay … it’s my city, too. I’m French .I want to win everything this season.”
But his statement did not confirm his stay at PSG beyond this season. Reports coming out of Madrid suggest that Florentino Pérez and Real Madrid are still confident of securing Mbappe on a free transfer next summer.
But according to The National News, PSG are still hoping to keep Mbappe at the club. The French side are suggesting that his chances of winning the Ballon D’Or prize are best fitted at PSG.
Kylian Mbappe also talked about playing alongside Lionel Messi at PSG
Lionel Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer on a free transfer from Barcelona. The forward talking about his experience playing alongside Messi said:
“It’s a big pleasure for me to say to my kids, to my friends, I play with him [Messi],”
“We have to enjoy seeing him in Paris … It’s an amazing moment in the history of the game.”
