The T20 world cup is around the corner and there is massive debate on squad selection. Since we witnessed top-notch games from spinners on different tours, Pakistan’s veteran wicket-keeper, Kamran Akmal is concerned, that R Ashwin has fare chance to be a part of the T20 World Cup, and his form is a positive sign for Indian cricket.

Akmal on Ashwin

Ashwin, a 35-year-old spinner, has made a comeback in the T20I series and currently playing against the West Indies. Also, he has picked three wickets with an economy rate of 6.66 and a strike rate of 24.

Akmal said,

“R Ashwin is a proven campaigner and his form ahead of the T20 World Cup is a positive sign for Indian cricket. He impressed once again with his variations”

And he also mentioned that,

“He has a lot of experience playing T20 cricket and is a matchwinner. It adds to the confidence of the team when you have someone like R Ashwin to bowl in the middle overs”

Akmal also has a say on SKY

Akmal also praised Suryakumar Yadav and stated that SKY’s aggressive approach with the bat and his shot selections helped India to chase the target easily.

“Suryakumar showcased his skills and played a brilliant knock. His shot selection was very good. He would have scored a lot more runs from the same number of balls if Shreyas Iyer hadn’t got out at the other end. He slowed down a bit after Iyer’s dismissal”
