Raheem Sterling excited about his new journey as a Gunner

Raheem Sterling has joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Chelsea, after being banished by the new manager, Enzo Maresca. Sterling is Arsenal’s fifth addition this summer following the permanent signings of Riccardo Calafiori, David Raya and Mikel Merino.

The 29-year old winger adds variety and flair to Arteta’s front three. He will don the no.30 jersey at the Emirates and will hope to leave an everlasting impression.

The Englishman felt that Arsenal is the ideal place to redeem his career and make a comeback to the world stage. He is very excited to play under Mikel Arteta. He says;

“I’m buzzing. It’s one where we left it late but it’s one I was hoping for. Looking at everything, I’m just like: ‘this is a perfect fit for me’, and I’m super happy that we got it over the line. It’s time now to meet the boys, get settled in and hopefully now see some game time and make my mark.”

The former Man City and Liverpool forward is keen on redeeming himself this season. He is keen on making a comeback to the Three Lions. He has not featured in the Three Lions’ squad since the World cup 2022.

Sterling made 81 appearances for Chelsea and scored 19 goals after joining for £50m in 2022. He reunites with Arteta, who was a coach at Manchester City. The Spaniard urged the board to get him on board.

What is Sterling going to add to this Arsenal “Super team”

Raheem Sterling is a great addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad. He adds depth to the squad as the Gunners are keen on winning the league title for the first time since 2004.

The 29-year old is a huge threat in one-on-one situations. His pace and acceleration helps him take down defenders efficiently. Under Pep Guardiola, he aced on cutting back infield along with his deadly finishing ability.

Sterling’s off the ball movement is second to none. He restricts opposition defenders into smaller spaces which leads to errors. He uses his body very effectively, in ground duels while dribbling as well as while defending.

At Man City he used to rack up xG of around 20 per season, his sense of attacking free spaces is his best weapon. He can dissect opposition defense with immaculate in behind runs.

Arsenal have creators like Odegaard and Saka who are going to compliment Sterling a lot. Former Man City teammate, Zinchenko, had great chemistry with him. The Ukrainian full-back is great at making overlapping runs and linking up with wide wingers.

Sterling’s presence inside the opposition box is of high importance. His vision in the final third is very efficient, which can turn games on its head. Arteta’s men will benefit a lot from Sterling’s profile when they are up against a low-block team.

Raheem Sterling wants to prove critics wrong

Raheem Sterling was labelled as a “flop” despite scoring 19 goals in 81 appearances. The player felt humiliated the way the club treated him. He hoped that new manager Enzo Maresca would help him revive his career but he was betrayed.

Sterling was optimistic when the new Chelsea boss arrived. However, Maresca banished him from his squad as he felt the winger is not the profile he needs. He said;

“He is not the type of winger I like, that says nothing against Raheem.”

Mikel Arteta has rescued the 29-year old from this chaos as he wants to help him revive his career. The Spaniard admires Sterling, therefore pushed for his signing.

The 29-year old winger is keen on working under Arteta and reignite the flair he had inside him under Pep. If this gamble pays off, this signing might become yet another Edu and Mikel Arteta masterclass.

Mikel Arteta’s is pumped up and is keen on working with Raheem Sterling yet again. He wants the Englishman to start sprinting as soon as possible. He says;

“We have to try to find quick wins to get him up to speed as quickly as possible and for him to understand what we are looking for from him in the dynamics of the team. We will use that time to do that and get him involved as soon as possible.”

According to reports by the Standard U.K, Raheem Sterling will study Arsenal’s patterns of play and work out where he best fits in and how he can contribute. He does have a head-start in understanding Mikel Arteta’s tactics, considering their work together in Manchester. He is set to feature in the North London derby against Tottenham.
