Rajasthan replaces Prasidh Krishna for the upcoming season

In just few days, the 16th edition of the IPL will star and people all over India are eagerly waiting for the tournament. As teams prepare for the T20 extravaganza, they are finalizing their squads and addressing gaps caused by player injuries. On March 27, the Rajasthan Royals announced that Sandeep Sharma would replace Prasidh Krishna. He was forced to withdraw from the upcoming IPL season due to a lumbar stress fracture. Krishna had a successful 2022 season, taking 19 wickets at an average of 29. Sandeep Sharma, with 104 IPL matches under his belt, will take his place.

In his decade-long career, the 29-year-old has taken 114 wickets with an average of 26.33. Sharma’s most notable season was in 2014, during which he played a crucial role in taking Punjab Kings to the finals. He picked up 18 wickets at an impressive average of 19.66.

In 2012, India won their third ICC U19 World Cup title thanks to a remarkable performance from a right-arm seamer who took 4 wickets in the final, propelling him into the limelight. With a total of 12 wickets, he tied as the joint-highest wicket-taker for India in the tournament, earning him a contract with Punjab Kings in 2013.

Rajasthan came close previous season to win title

In the December 2022 mini-auction, Rajasthan Royals secured the services of several star players. It includes Holder for INR 5.75 crore, Adam Zampa for INR 1.5 crore, and Joe Root for INR 2 crore. In the previous season, the team came close to winning their second title but fell short in the final. With the addition of these new players, the 2008 champions aim to make history once again by winning the title. Rajasthan Royals will kick off their IPL campaign against SRH on April 2.
