Rana also joins injury list of KKR along with Iyer and Ferguson

It has been reported that Nitish Rana, from KKR, suffered an ankle injury during a practice session on March 23. This injury adds to the list of setbacks for KKR, with Lockie Ferguson and Shreyas Iyer also being injured. Ferguson has a hamstring injury and may be out for the first week of the IPL, while Iyer’s recurring lower back issue may cause him to miss the first half of the tournament. Rana was struck by a ball on his left ankle while batting and had to stop practising, but he stated that it was not a serious injury when approached by Sportskeeda.

As he received treatment for his ankle, the batter winced in pain while removing his shoes and socks. After lying on the pitch for a while, the 29-year-old got up and limped over to the other side of the ground. It’s worth noting that he remained on the field with his teammates until the end of the day’s training.

Rana injury will make it worse for Knights

In the upcoming IPL, Nitish Rana will play alongside West Indians Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. If Rana’s injury worsens, it could be a significant blow to KKR as it would further disrupt their batting lineup. However, no official announcement has been made about Rana’s injury, and it’s expected that he will recover quickly.

In the meantime, KKR has cancelled their Saturday practice, and the players will only attend a gym session. The Knights are scheduled to play their first practice match against the CAB XI on Saturday, March 25. As per their IPL 2023 schedule, KKR will play their second match against Punjab Kings. The match will be played at the Punjab Cricket Association’s IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on April 1.
