Randal Kolo Muani: The Game-Changer United Desperately Needs

Randal Kolo Muani is the latest on the transfer buzz for Manchester United. However, with the Red Devils still finding their feet under Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 line-up, never has the need for versatile, dynamic players been greater. United legend Gary Neville has pointed out the glaring issue: wingbacks. Imagine our surprise if we told you that this squad might be revived by a certain French forward. Randal Kolo Muani could be the player to light up Old Trafford—yes, because his name is fun to chant.

Who is Randal Kolo Muani, and Why Does He Matter?

Randal Kolo Muani is a French striker for the uninitiated who is fast, agile, and can open defenses. Kolo Muani plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, having impressed and brought himself into the French national team. His natural position is up front, but this adaptability to having a tactical role could be an intriguing prospect for Amorim, who is building his system utilizing youngsters.

With Amorim’s 3-4-3, wingbacks are capable of seamlessly transitioning between attack and defense.Kolo Muani could provide an alternative solution. What if you had a player who could score, create chances, and mark for defense? Isn’t that sound like a cheat code?

United’s Need for Wingbacks and the Transfer Puzzle

Neville’s recent critique could have been all about the elephant, namely Dalot. And he added, “If it doesn’t work with free kicks if it doesn’t work with set-ups or wingbacks, the whole system collapses.” Current upcoming options such as Mazzraoui and Dalot are “willing,” but they do not have the unique skill set required by this high-demand role.

Enter Kolo Muani. His ability to do things across flanks is not a traditional wingback, so he could bring much-needed creativity and fluidity. But if you were to look at how United’s current squad is put together, it is something like trying to build IKEA furniture when some of the screws are missing; you do what you can, as your life is not hanging on the result.

Why Randal Kolo Muani Could Work Under Ruben Amorim

Let’s get one thing straight: Kolo Muani is not a Band-Aid solution; he is a game changer. Amorim is fortunate that his familiarity with high-intensity pressing systems is right up his alley. He has a knack of making spaces, and goal-sense him as a double threat. Kolo Muani would gel well if put with a disciplined back three, providing a layer of unpredictability in what will undoubtedly be an attacking force for United while delivering on the wide areas defensively.

Of course, there’s that tricky bit, money. United’s finances are tighter than Harry Maguire’s grip on his captaincy dreams after a summer splurge of more than £180m. United are also keen on PSG’s Nuno Mendes, but funds will first be required to headhunt Henderson and Yarmolenko. Marcus Rashford and Casemiro are also on the fringe of the Old Trafford exit as they seek to relieve their books of high earners.

My opinion: Why Randal Kolo Muani is the Player United Need

As a lifelong football fan (but frequent dreamer), you can’t help but see Kolo Muani as the perfect puzzle piece for United. So he is Amorim’s ideal candidate due to his versatility and work ethic. We’ve all got to admit that watching United lose four in a row is plain painful and hopefully predictable.

Kolo Muani could give Tottenham what they need—the flair and efficiency. More importantly, wouldn’t it be great if a striker beat the likes of, say, a wingback at his own game?

We’ll all just have to continue refreshing Twitter for updates and praying that they don’t get 4-0 beaten anymore.
