Raphinha shows his frustrations after the Barcelona clash

Raphinha

Raphinha joined Barcelona back in the summer transfer window of last year. Raphinha was also Arsenal‘s target back in that transfer window before he eventually moved to Barcelona. However, the recent events now suggest that the deal might still end up happening. The player has had a whirlwind day in the last 24 hours. He scored Barcelona’s equalizing goal against Manchester United. However, he was soon substituted after scoring the goal. And he was soon seen punching the chair in front of him after he was subbed off. Raphinha was clearly frustrated after his cross was missed by one of his teammates. Therefore Xavi’s men failed to push for a winner at Camp Nou that evening. Ferran Torres appeared for a bit after that but all the focus was on the Brazilian due to his expressive reactions.

Raphinha apologizes for his show of frustration at the game

Raphinha was put in the spotlight after the match. Though he has come out to apologize for the incident. He said,

“I’ve already apologised and I will do it again in training. I want to say sorry for my reaction after the change – it won’t happen again. I don’t have any problem with Xavi or the club, I just wanted to be on the pitch.”

This happened after the video of him went viral on social media. In the video, Raphinha was asked about his favorite sides outside England. To this, he replied,

“I love Arsenal and PSG.”

The player was significantly a huge target for the Gunners but it was Barcelona who managed to sign him. But the financial turmoil that Barcelona are facing could cloud his future at Camp Nou. With Arsenal’s admiration for the player well documented, it has opened up a chance for the Gunners.

They might try and sign the Brazilian again in the next transfer window. Barcelona have competition in the frontline. And Raphinha could definitely be a salable option for them. Therefore if Arsenal were to go back for him, they would certainly have his interest.
