Real Madrid draw up the 5-men centre-back transfer shortlist

According to various reports in Spain, Real Madrid are preparing 5 possible centre back targets for the upcoming summer transfer window.

In the summer transfer window, Real Madrid’s main centre backs Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane left the club. Varane who joined Manchester United this summer has been part of the club since 2011. On the other hand, Sergio Ramos was part of the club since 2005 and was the captain of Los Blancos.

With two big names leaving from the Centre back position, Real Madrid managed one new signing in the form of David Alaba. Alaba, who was at Bayern previously can play in different positions including centre back. With Eder Militao and Nacho already as two possible centre backs, The addition of Alaba was very important to strengthen the squad.

Carlo Ancelloti and Real Madrid are further planning to solidify their defence. Madrid president Florentino Perez is eager to sign another centre back to reinforce Madrid’s defensive issues.

Who are Madrid’s 5 possible transfer targets?

Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti have drawn up a list of 5 players to decide on a possible transfer. The reported players included are Pau Torres, Milan Skriniar, Antonio Rudiger, Marquinhos, and Matthias Ginter.

Pau Torres, who is currently at Villarreal is one of the main targets and favourite to join Real Madrid. The 24-year-old centre back has had brilliant performances with Villareal and won the Europa League last season.

The next target is Inter Milan’s Skriniar. The 26-year old has been a crucial part of the Milan side in their defence. However, Florentino Perez has shown interest in the centre back and is willing to bring him to Real Madrid.

Next up on Madrid’s transfer targets is PSG centre back Marquinhos. The Brazilian has been a major asset for PSG at the back and helped reach the finals of the Uefa Champions League in the last 2 seasons. He is considered a leader in defence and can prove to be a possible Sergio Ramos replacement.

The last two players on Madrid’s radar are Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea and Matthias Ginter from Borussia Monchengladbach. The two German centre backs have shown great performances for club and country making them possible targets for Madrid in the next summer’s transfer window.
