Real Madrid in the race for 17-year-old Iker Bravo

Defensa Central claims that Real Madrid is monitoring Bayer Leverkusen’s Iker Bravo. The young attacker has recently made waves in the youth circuit, and top clubs have taken an interest.

Iker Bravo is thought of as one of the most promising young Spanish players and is predicted to have a successful future. Before moving to Leverkusen last year, the 17-year-old attended Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy.

Bravo scored three goals in three games for the Under-17 team of Bayer Leverkusen after moving there. For the Under-19 team, Bravo has seven goals and three assists in just 14 games. Although he has only appeared in two games, he made his senior debut with in October 2021.

With 11 goals in just 14 games, Bravo has been a prolific goal scorer for the Spain Under-17 national team s well. Although he has played three times for the Spanish Under-19 squad, he is yet to score.

These are indeed impressive numbers. Real Madrid president Fiorentino Perez has repeatedly tried to find the best young talents in the recent past. The acquisition of Vincius Jr and Rodrygo Goes in 2018 has paid dividends. The young Brazilians played a key role in leading the Los Blancos to their 14th Champions League title.

Iker Bravo: Real Madrid’s Future?

The rejection of Kylian Mbappe would have surely rubbed everyone at Madrid off the wrong way. They will now hope to wrap up a deal for Bravo to ensure that Madrid’s long-term future is in safe hands.

Bravo would probably first play with Real Madrid’s Castilla squad, which is led by legendary striker Raul Gonzalez. Before moving up to the senior team, the 17-year-old might benefit greatly from playing under the former Spanish international and further hone his craft. Bravo can surely flourish under the guidance of a legend like the Portuguese.
