According to Sky Sports News, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, Juventus have all made contact with Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger. The German international has contract expiring in June 2022 and is now free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with other clubs. The 28-year-old still remains an important player to Tuchel’s side as he has started 20 Premier League games this season.

Rudiger has attracted interest from all over Europe due to his phenomenal performances for Germany and Chelsea in the last year. Moreover, he will be a cheaper option and can be signed as a free agent. In addition, he has scored two goals and assisted two in the Premier League this season. All the interested clubs have the need for a center-back who is in good form.

The German international had a slow start to his Chelsea career but is undroppable this season. Moreover, he has all the characteristics of a great center-back. He is also flexible tactically and can play in different formations. However, he is most sought after because he will be a free agent and they will secure an expensive player for a free transfer.

Manchester United also has an eye over this Rudiger situation as they will also look for an opportunity to pounce on it. Moreover, the German international has now adapted well to the Premier League. As a result, he can think about a move to Manchester United. However, the fans will not be happy if that move takes place.

Why do all the Elite clubs have an eye for Rudiger?

Antonio Rudiger is at the peak of life physically and can do most of his abilities. More importantly, he will also be available as a free transfer. He would have a greater market value if the contract had a few more years left on it. Moreover, Rudiger is left unhappy with the contract renewals that Chelsea has offered.

He makes 1.2 tackles and 2 clearances per game in all competitions. Moreover, he attempts 4.2 long balls per game and has a pass success rate of 87.7% (stats via whoscored). Many clubs are now suffering either from lack of depth or underperforming players. However, Rudiger looks very comfortable at the back and his contractual situation has attracted some customers.

Chelsea will try to bind him to the club for a few more years. The Blues are facing similar issues with Andreas Christensen and will not want to lose two center-backs in one window. Moreover, they are currently facing an injury crisis and Rudiger has been with them through it all. He also played a huge role in Chelsea’s triumph in the Champions League.

Chelsea must do everything in their power to keep Rudiger at the club. However, if a transfer takes place then any club would be lucky to have him. He can be a great starter and also a good option for game rotations. There were rumors that Real Madrid had withdrawn their interest but they have made contact with Rudiger. Chelsea can lose a leading center back for free if they do not renew his contract.
