Ferrari 2023

Red bull ceased the 2022 F1 season with a dominant design showcasing immense speed and dominating the season.

Red bull’s RB18 was the car to catch in 2022. The car scored an unprecedented 17 wins in the 22 races.

At the start of the season, the team experienced some troubles with reliability after scoring three retirements in the opening three races. However, once the issue was resolved, the red bull team was flying. Max Verstappen alone scored record-breaking 15 wins.

It is clear by now that the design adopted by Red bull is arguably the best. The design helped the Milton Keynes-based team to bring new upgrades efficiently – something its main rivals Ferrari failed to do.

Different approaches, new designs, and what red bull expects

All the top three teams went with different approaches to making the new cars in 2022. The new regulations made it clear that the designs of cars would be different and it turned out so. Ferrari and red bull came out with the best designs however, Mercedes suffered with their zero sidepods design.

The Silver Arrows, however, did make a lot of progress throughout the season. Red Bull F1 chief engineer Paul Monaghan expects many more changes coming in 2023:

“I don’t think the cars will have an identical appearance. I don’t think we’re at that point yet,”

claimed Monaghan

“The regulations govern the shape more closely than they used to. But there are some differences, particularly if you look at the Mercedes, the Ferrari and the Red Bull car.”

“There are some significant differences. There are regulations changes coming along for next year, are we going to all have the same solution at race one? I doubt it. That doesn’t seem to be the way of our sport.”
