Anton Ferdinand believes that Declan Rice should leave West Ham United in the summer, with Arsenal as the perfect destination for the 24-year-old.
West Ham will have a tough job to keep Rice beyond the summer. As per Times, Arsenal have made him their top target in the summer transfer window.
Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Ferdinand stated about the midfielder’s future at the end of the season. Pundit believes that Rice is surely leaving Hammers in the summer. However he went on to add that he will be perfect signing for Arsenal.
Ferdinand further stated:-
“I think this will be it, if I’m being really honest. It kills me to say because he’s been such a fantastic player and a massive part of our team. But I think for him and for us as a club, I think it’s time.
“He’s given everything he can to the football club. And if we do win the Conference League, that’s a perfect sign-off.
“Arsenal’s the perfect fit for him. I’d play him in the eight, I’d play him where Xhaka is.”
West Ham United are in the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League. But it will not be enough to keep Rice. The midfielder wants to challenge for the Premier League title and Champions League.
Ferdinand sees Emirates as the perfect destination for Rice in the coming months. He is a player who will be in his peak in the coming years if Gunners sign him.
