Manchester United legend and football pundit Rio Ferdinand believes that Raheem Sterling will leave Manchester City amid links with Arsenal and Barcelona.

Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Manchester City and England ace Raheem Sterling, as they seek to bolster their attack. According to reports, Mikel Arteta is keen to sign the 26-year-old.

Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of the England winger. Developing a good relationship with him during his time as Guardiola’s number two at City. The England international has less than two years remaining on his current deal with the Premier League champions. And talks over a new contract had stalled. Arsenal looking to try their best to snatch Sterling away from City if possible.

Sterling enjoyed an excellent Euro 2020 this summer, scoring three goals as England reached the final against Italy. He earned himself a spot in the team of the tournament. But sterling has fallen behind Jack Grealish in the Etihad pecking order since his compatriot’s £100m arrivals. The 26-year-old has only started in just three of City’s seven Premier League fixtures so far.

Sterling to Barcelona

Barcelona are also keeping tabs on the player. Barcelona and Arsenal have both are tipped to move for Sterling. And Ferdinand does not expect his compatriot to remain at the Etihad or in the Premier League for much longer. Ferdinand expects Sterling to garner interest from Real Madrid or Barcelona.

On his podcast, he said: “I think Real Madrid and Barcelona – they’ll have money again. “There will be no shortage of takers for Raheem Sterling. If he’s not playing I think those two clubs will be interested. “You can’t doubt what Sterling has done – I think he’s worth £100 million – in a heartbeat. But if he hasn’t played all season he won’t be going for that.”
