Arsenal seems to have a very busy January transfer window as they look to strengthen their team. The former Manchester United player thinks that Arsenal could do with another winger. Rio Ferdinand feels that Arsenal should correct their costly mistake of signing Nicolas Pepe and go for the signing of Wilfried Zaha. He believes that the Gunners should have signed him three years ago when they had a chance, but instead opted for Pepe.

Arsenal to try and sign Zaha next transfer window

Wilfried Zaha is about to enter the last six months of this contract at Crystal Palace. And it looks very unlikely that he will be staying at Selhurst Park after the expiration of his contract. The 29- year old player has gained attention from many top clubs from different leagues, Barcelona and Arsenal being one of them. Zaha can help to strengthen any team that he goes to but Ferdinand believes that with a talent like his, teams like Arsenal and Newcastle will be the most benefited. The former Manchester United player thinks that Arsenal should rectify the mistake they made three years ago by signing Zaha as a free agent.

He’d be good at Arsenal I think.

Said Ferdinand on his YouTube show Vibe With FIVE,

At Arsenal he’d be a good challenge to the two [Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli] that are there and a good option. They should have bought him when they bought Pepe!

He also thinks that Newcastle could also be a good team for Zaha as it’s one of the teams who have been impressive this season.

Zaha on his transfer links with Arsenal

Amidst the transfer rumors, the Crystal Palace player refused to comment on them. It is no doubt that Zaha is an important player to the Crystal Palace team and has already scored fourteen league goals for them last season and has continued to maintain his impressive form.

“My contract is up when my contract is up and the only thing I am focused on is doing well for the club, that’s it. I take each day as it comes.

Answers Zaha to Sky Sports,

“I’m very devoted to Palace and that’s all I’m thinking about.”

Meanwhile, the Gunners fans seem to agree with Ferdinand’s remarks on Zaha and believe it could be a good transfer if it happens.
