“I think Australia’s chances really hinge on the upcoming Indian tour, to be honest, and India’s chances are a little bit the same. It is always a much-anticipated series — Australia and India, whether it be in Australia or in India — it’s much hyped up and talked about, the rivalry between the two countries is just growing year on year.”

However, Ponting heavily praised South Africa for their efforts on the field. The Proteas’ records at their home has been outstanding. He also appreciated Sri Lanka, and mentioned them as a hard opponent too. The way they came back in test cricket at their homegrowns, especially against the Australia has been really commendable. Well , Pakistan got appraisals from the Ponting too. The team has been way too passionate about the game, and has produced talents over the years.
