It is always a much-anticipated series — Australia and India, whether it be in Australia or in India — it’s much hyped up and talked about, the rivalry between the two countries is just growing year on year.”

However, Ponting heavily praised South Africa for their efforts on the field. The Proteas’ records at their home has been outstanding. He also appreciated Sri Lanka, and mentioned them as a hard opponent too. The way they came back in test cricket at their homegrowns, especially against the Australia has been really commendable.
