Roberto Martinez speaks about the rumour on Barcelona job

Roberto Martinez has no interest in taking up the Barcelona job, as he replies about the recent link with the Catalans for being their manager. Barcelona have been thinking of a possibility to replace Ronald Koeman following which Roberto Martinez was the top priority. But after his recent comments, it is clear that he has no interest in that job.

Barcelona led by Ronald Koeman have been struggling this season after losing out Messi to Paris Saint-Germain. The Catalans suffered a 3-0 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League opener. Following which as per reports, Koeman has been given a three-match ultimate.

While the Dutchman’s one chance is gone after a 1-1 draw against Granada in their last La Liga match. Barcelona were closing for a defeat but a last-minute header for Ronald Araujo saved Koeman’s job that day. But the time for the Dutchman to prove his ability is now limited.

Following which Barcelona listing options for a new manager if Ronald Koeman is sacked in near future. And in that list, Belgium coach Roberto Martinez was the top priority for Barcelona. But listing to the rumors Martinez has already replied he has no interest in joining the Catalans.

He said, As you can imagine, there is nothing, really nothing, for me to comment on. Obviously, there are always rumors, they are always there. This is normal in football. When you lose three matches, rumors say you are going to lose your job. When things are going well, when you have good results, there are also rumors. But there is nothing for me to comment on at this time”.

So, from this, it is clear Barcelona have to cut off Roberto Martinez from their options and focus on other ones.
