Jersey number 9 of Chelsea vacated for Romelu Lukaku

The UEFA Champions League champions Chelsea have officially that jersey number 9 is being given to Romelu Lukaku after the departure of Tammy Abraham to Roma this summer.

The 28-year-old Belgium striker returned to Stamford Bridge from San Siro for a £98 million deal. He was initially handed over jersey number 18, but now he is being given jersey number 9 after the departure of their main striker Tammy Abraham to Roma in the summer transfer window.

Moreover, the former Manchester United and Everton center forward Romelu Lukaku is very excited to join the Blues attack again. He is ready to show his goal scoring abilities and leadership qualities in the English Premier League.

Lukaku said,“Yeah I have the number nine shirt, I’m very happy and very fortunate to be in this situation.”

Chelsea started their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace. Their next fixture is on Sunday [22/08/2021] against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium


Will Romelu Lukaku emerge as a trump card?

After the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, Thomas Tuchel’s side is stronger than earlier. Moreover, the team management confirms that Lukaku is fit and ready to go this weekend against the Gunners.
