The Irish Airlines recently tweeted on the burning Piastri-Alpine contract fiasco and ‘strolled’ Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll.
The current Alpine-Piastri contract fiasco has gained a lot of attention from everyone around the world.
Ever since the tweet from Piastri, many have taken a dig into the chaos. Irish Airlines Ryan Air was also no different.
The drama unfolded when Alonso announced he would be moving to Aston Martin to replace a retiring Sebastian Vettel.
Alonso’s sudden announcement took Alpine by surprise. Team principal Otmar Szafnauer claimed that on Sunday evening after the Hungarian GP, Alonso had promised him that a contract between the two was imminent.
However, the next day Aston Martin announced the big news.
Moreover, in a frantic effort to get Piastri as a replacement for Alonso, Alpine further caused itself an embarrassment and got outplayed.
Alpine F1 put up a press release claiming that Piastri would drive alongside Esteban Ocon in 2023. However, within 2 hours the Australian denied the release and clarified that he won’t be racing for the team in 2023.
This started the Alpine-Piasri contract fiasco. Now it seems almost certain that Piastri is going to drive for McLaren in 2023.
Amidst all this Ryan Air also took a dig at the situation comparing the drama to their policy of random seat allocation. To this, a user replied:
“But can you pay to choose your seat?”
Ryan Air came up with a hilarious reply saying:
“just like Lance Stroll”
