Bayern Munich and Liverpool have reached an agreement for the transfer of Senegalese superstar Sadio Mane. The winger will now move to the Allianz Arena after 6 years.

Mane had an illustrious career at Liverpool, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and The Carabao Cup. He was a key part of their most successful era under Jurgen Klopp. He formed a formidable trio along with Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

On an individual level, Mane scored 90 Premier League goals for the Reds, and 120 in all competitions.

Now it appears that Mane is on his way to a new challenge. He revealed before the Champions League final that he was considering his future.

A fee of £35m has been agreed upon. It has an upfront fee of £27.5m along with £7.5m in potential add-ons.

This was Bayern Munich’s 3rd bid for Mane. They had their previous two rejected because Liverpool considered them too low. Now though, it seems that an agreement has been reached.

Mane will sign a three-year contract with the German champions. It is reported that he will earn in the region of  £320,000 a week.

Sadio Mane can be a good replacement for Robert Lewandowski. Although he is not a traditional number 9, he has often been deployed in the middle by Klopp in recent weeks.

Life Ahead Of Mane

The signing of Luis Diaz was a threat to Mane’s place in the starting XI as they both occupy the same position. However, he adapted well and switched his game to that of a striker in the final months of the season.

Liverpool will find it tough to replace the prolific Mane but have started preparations underway. Darwin Nunez has been signed by Benfica, and Klopp will hope he can replicate the numbers of his predecessor.
